I was consulting for a group looking to gain significant investment for the development of a resort on the island of Bonaire in the Caribbean. The original bungalow sketches submitted by a designer were determined to be too traditional. Being familiar with the project, I offered to provide a concept I thought would work well for their overall resort plans. The concept below was enthusiastically received:

The wrap of windows around the base of the top, and a large peaked glass area in the center to allow additional sunlight was a feature they especially liked. Also, the only rooms inside the bungalow that had a closed ceiling were the bathroom and the two bedrooms. This gives a wide open ambiance to the interior that the partnership felt would be a major attraction for resort guests.
